One day three people sat down for breakfast on a small island off the coast of Tanzania. A plan formed between them, a plan to cross the most enormous continent of them all, Africa. This website tells the story of those people and their friends on their journey across the dark continent. This site is the literary work and photographs of me (Raf Jah) unless otherwise stated. The site has two sides, a formal side of Reports, flora, fauna, weather, terrain, commercial potential and political climate. And a less formal side with updates, amusing stories and photographs.The reports represent the work of all of us, and the updates are my warped opinions. I hope that you enjoy what is written here.

When this expedition is over I'll hand in a report to the Royal Geographic Society in London. This will be available to the public to read. I am also recording the entire journey on slides and black and white film. I have nominated one of the crew to act as cameraman for our digital video.
