Gearboxes exploded 1

Today was an important day for all of us. It was the day that Narinder climbed into his ridiculous 130 and chugged off towards Moshi. The first leg of his voyage across the Sahara. He is due to pick up Penny in Nairobi in a few days. They will then organise themselves and wander around Kenya.I am still lumbered with the Swahili Divers Scuba Centre. So today I had to go diving. Just as the sun was setting on the Indian ocean, one of the gearboxes on the outboard engines decided to explode. So while Narinder had was happily chugging North, I was hauling gearboxes around our front yard and changing them down on the beach.

You may wonder why I didn't start my journey with Narinder. The reason is simple. My job is to wait around Tanzania for our Sudanese Visas to come through, re-build my truck and make sure that Swahili Divers is ready to be handed over to my Manager for four months. After all of that I have to dash to Nairobi to pick up Stuart and RV with the others for a further journey to Lake Turkana.

Somehow I think I got the short straw! But now I must be off, I have a new gearbox to order.
