With only nine days to go, the preparations for B577WKJ (the Weasel) are becoming frantic. I flew over to Dar es Salaam specially to pick up the Weasel, test her, pack her, and leave her at the house of my ever generous friend Pip Smith. As I write I'm waiting for the truck to be finished. So to pass the time I'll tell you all a fable:

There is an old woman in this world. She is a benevolent old woman, and sometimes a malicious and vicious one. She gives birth often , abandons her young, kills her middle aged offspring, and rains death on the unwary visitor to her house. She is called Africa. Rivalled only by her cousin the sea and her aunt India, Africa is an old beast that will sidle up behind you and kick you in the arse when you are careless. Yesterday Narinder was careless and recieved a light tap on his posterior. But let me allow him to tell this story....

"NBO 17.10.2001 Greetings Fella, Well arrived here safe and sound, met Penny off the plane this morning, and met Matt on Sunday at the Hill Top Camp Site. Got mugged last night- sorry but you watch present was taken, along with other bits, well life is certainly full of surprises.

We will probably head off to the Masai Mara for a little jaunt in the next day or two, so let us know your plans and when to meet up in the big city.

See ya soon,

Narinder"

And so now you know everything, I'm in Dar es Salaam, Narinder and Penny are in Nairobi, Stuart is in the Lake District, Sam is in Sweden, and no-one knows where Cisca is or if she's coming.

Until the next installment!
